Connection

As a Government Communicator, I strive to make elected officials more accessible to the people they represent.  I also want people to love where they live and feel a connection to their community.  When people are connected to their community, they have a greater sense of well-being.  Where I currently work in Vineyard City, I've strived to create a variety of avenues for residents to feel connected and to enjoy amenities that bring people together.  Here are some of my accomplishments in Vineyard:

• Opened the Vineyard Children's Library, which included writing grants, creating a library card, instituting a reading challenge and publishing a children's book, "V is for Vineyard."  

• Created the Vineyard Community Garden, coordinated sponsorships, wrote a newsletter, and brought together a coalition of interested and passionate community members.

•  Produced Vineyard's Facebook Live series, a monthly broadcast where City Staff and elected officials give updates on pertinent topics and other communication initiatives.

• Coordinated the application for Vineyard's Healthy Utah Community Award from Get Healthy Utah, which included initiatives in areas such as mental health, healthy eating, physical health and coalition-building of health-minded community members.

• Developed relationships with strategic partners and important stakeholders.
